Randwick Project
This project features joinery and cabinetry that is not only custom designed and manufactured, but also demonstrates the quality of the installation performed by Danish Designer Kitchens. Of particular note is the glass-shelved wall unit that was meticulously fitted into a recess in the sandstone walls.
The predominant coating used in this job was a hand-painted finish that was given a protective clear polyurethane coating for durability. The use of this finish was a perfect fit for the brief from both the owner and the interior designer, which was to create a traditional-meets-contemporary look for this fantastic 100-year-old renovated home.
To continue this theme of old-meets-new, the library unit features a modern take on the traditional sliding ladder. The ladder combines the use of high-quality stainless steel fabrication as well as decorative plywood for the treads that were given a finish to match the overall colour scheme.
Custom-made freestanding furniture pieces are also displayed in the image galleries, including matching mantlepieces and side tables. The feature letter on the fireplace was also made by Danish Designer Kitchens and finished in polyurethane.
